Summer 2007

It's been a busy summer! After releasing in the early spring "MetaCycle", a software utility I wrote for MetaSynth, I was asked to remix "Point of Origin" songs for SmartSound - a soundtrack company - They wanted to add these songs to thier sound library. It was way more work than I ever thought - Most of those songs were written and created with a different studio setup so a lot of the sounds were either lost or had to be recreated. Anyway, it came out great and they like it! I'll be making another project for them (see below)

I had the honor of making a remix of a song "Don't Give It Up" for an EMI/Parlophone recording artist Siobhan Donaghy. Cool record and the remix I did is being well received! I was sent a copy of the extended CD with my remix on it and I had my name on a sticker on the front! Pretty cool. I would love to do more of these! The CD I got was an extra CD that had other remixes and a single release of "So You Say" which is on the album "Ghosts"

I've just completed another 10 original songs for the sound company SmartSound - This set of songs had a theme "Dreamy Days, Cool Nights" - so they are kinda electronic "new agey" with piano melodies and guitar - they came out nice. The project hasn't been released yet so who knows what the actual library name will be.

Everyone should have a rain barrel. I made this one from a 55 gallon drum and hooked it up to a downspout on the house. I think we could all do a little something "green" for the earth. I may still have to drive my gas car, but at least I'm saving a bit of water. Besides, my potted plants love it! I'm thinking about adding more as this summer's monsoon has already filled it many times over.
